I am too tired and emotionally drained to talk about anything controversial today, so the post that I was planning to do for you will have to wait for another couple of weeks. Instead, I’m going to talk about me (I happen to be an expert on this subject so no-one can argue with me).
I have just gotten my undergraduate degree in Human Biology, and I have a job in a laboratory that has bacterial, viral, and molecular departments. I would like to, one day, go back to school to get a Masters degree and maybe even a PhD, so I can move into Medicine. This is how I plan to make money for my family. I love learning, and my job, but science is not my number one passion.
As the title of this post declares, and as is mentioned in my blog subheading; I am a writer. This is who I am at the core. I write these blog posts, I write journals, I write to process events and feelings, I write poetry and I write fiction.
The pandemic has pulled me away from the lab, but has instead granted me the time and space to focus on my first love. I have begun writing and submitting some Flash Fiction (check out my ‘Fiction’ page), have started a new novel, and am refining some short stories. But writing is the easy part, and the thing that I’ve been doing since I first leaned how to write, the difficult bit is putting it out into the world to be read and criticised by the general public.
But that is exactly what I’m planning to do.
I have been utilising my connections to follow writers on the WriterHQ forum to proofread my work and make useful suggestions, and I am planning to self-publish a few short stories over the next few months on Amazon Kindle. I don’t expect to make any decent money from this, but I will officially be a published author and it helps to pave the way for bigger and better things.
So this will act as my first announcement: Short stories coming soon to Amazon Kindle. Sign up for my newsletter below to get updates on my progress.
